Ebook Writing - Scammed By Perfect Self

The following is a post from Upwork. If you see this or something similar, run the other way. I didn't. Now my book will be posted to Amazon, Barnes & Noble and any other platform. The name I found connected to the last ebook this scammer got from me (yes, I had it happen twice. I know, shame on me) is shown below the Upwork ad. The name on this one was Mike Jensen. The name used previous was Andrew.

Hi ! I'm currently looking for a ghostwriter to write Kindle eBooks for me about the topic I've mentioned in the title. These are longer books with 10,000+ words, the payment is above average and there is huge potential for a long term working relationship. I'm looking forward to receiving your application.
Skills Required: Creative Writing Content Writ

If you see a book with the title "Confidence: Proven Tricks to Gain Indestructible Confidence, Annihilate Fear Completely & Conquer All Situations"

Don't buy it.

I wrote it but I get no credit, and the only compensation I got was frustration that I'm not organized enough to have caught this was a scam from the beginning. I work hard on these books and they are sold for someone else's benefit. It is really hard to prove this, so here I am. I can only hope the person attempts to sue me for libel with this blog, so I can find them and get compensation for the books I wrote. I have original copies of the work and emails arranging the assignment. I have proof for court appearances, but those are hard to make when the other individual hides behind a name like Perfect Self. Here are links to my other book on Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

Here are screenshots in case it gets removed:

Finally, here is the email I got when requesting information about the job post. I have removed the ebook title and the name at the end, because those changes but the other content stays the same. Again, if you see an email description like this, do not work with this person.

Hi, thank you for messaging me.
I am looking for a ghostwriter to write a 12,000 word book about the topic {Insert ebook name here ]. Your part will be the content creation + the Table of Content, and I will take care of the formatting myself so you don't have to worry about that.
The payment will be $2 per 100 words and the research you do, if necessary, will be included in that.
As the payment method, I can offer PayPal, Skrill, Payoneer and Direct Bank Transfer, but would prefer to avoid the ridiculous Upwork fees.
The deadline for this project is 2-3 weeks, but I'm willing to wait up to 4 weeks for an outstanding result.
If you can agree with all that, please send me an email stating that you agree with all my terms + any sample of your past work (the topic doesn't matter) as a reply to this email.

I will usually get back to you within 24 hours via email, so please make sure to regularly check your inbox.
My next message will include a few more details, so please hold on to any questions you may have until you have received it.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
[insert first name here]

Have you Been Scammed as a Freelance?

Have you put in hard work as a freelance writer/coder/data entry worker? You get in touch with a client through a reliable platform - or maybe through a less than reliable platform. We are all human, trying to make money and navigate the difficult world of freelance work online. If you set up an agreement with a client, go through with the work and submit it and then never get a response, you've been scammed. I have had it happen, and I'm sad to say it happened more than once. I am a writer that is trying to balance being a Work From Home Mom with writing to earn some money. I have a writing degree, I have the experience and a background of working with a small circulation morning newspaper. There are a lot of reasons I should be able to set up an agreement with someone and get paid for my work. Instead, I have done work and never seen a penny for it. If you have been through a similar situation, please feel free to submit your story. Hopefully, we can get the word out and
